Teaching Writing Workshop

Everyone is invited to the annual Teaching Writing Workshop this Saturday!

February 23rd 9-3:30pm, English Conference Room, NH 407
$10 registration fee

Spend the day with composition instructors who will demonstrate how to teach intvention, revision, run writing groups, respond to writing, and much more. The registration fee includes a Book of Wisdom that includes all of the above in addition to sample syllabi, assignments, and daily activities. It's everything you need to get started. Caffeine and snacks will be provided.

EGO/WEGO Call for Papers

EGO is currently accepting submissions for critical papers. Submissions may be original or those written for a PSU class. Critical papers will be accepted on any topic.

Requirements:
20 pages maximum
1 inch margin, 12 point font

Please submit your work with a cover sheet (available in the EGO box in the English
department office). EGO papers will be judged by professors in the English Literature department. Selected authors will present their work this spring, at a time and place TBA.

1st prize will be $75,
2nd prize $50, and 3rd prize $25.

The deadline is March 3rd by 5pm, so get writing! This is a great chance to showcase your work.

Central Committee Location Changed

Thinking about study groups

The quarter is just flying by and it is already time to start thinking about study groups for next term. Study groups are a great way to prepare for exams, to learn about topics not covered in the course schedule for the year, to meet other graduate students, and to round out the 9-credit registration requirement for financial aid. These groups are intended to make our lives easier and are loosely structured so that each group can make its own decisions about when and where to meet and what to study. If you are interested in coordinating a group please contact Michelle Brown (mlbrown@pdx.edu). For writing groups please contact Jessica Machado (Jessica Machado).
